Who we are
Owner & Writer, Donna Zucker
I began my business in 2008. My goal was to help people preserve their life stories and family histories. It was a privilege to listen, and be a guide and witness. In the years since, my business has expanded to help clients with professional work — ensuring they are communicating their goals clearly and effectively to make the best impact on the audience.
In addition to Storyguide, I have over 20 years experience as a senior writer, editor, researcher — working in-house for publishing houses in New York including Meredith, Condé Nast, and Scholastic. For ten years, I worked in the custom publishing division of Time Inc., creating print and online content for both nonprofit organizations and corporations.
My writing (both creative and professional) has been featured in magazines, books, literary journals, newspapers, and on the radio.
…
I began my teaching career at writing centers and universities in New York after earning a MFA in nonfiction writing from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. I also provide lectures at various institutions and nonprofits and continue to work independently with authors as a writing coach and manuscript editor.
Prior to this work, I had a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, and a passion for the arts rooted in her classical training as a pianist. I have also been fortunate to travel extensively, experiencing firsthand the power of storytelling around the world.
